Iraq Debate is an independent civic engagement initiative to foster and promote open discussions and debate culture in Iraq and plans to promote and teach debate across Universities and Schools in the country.

Iraq Debate brings together Arabs, Kurds, Chaldians, Assyrians, Turkmen, Yezidies, and Armenians and all components of Iraq communities to participate in debate workshops and tournaments.

Currently, Iraq Debate had a historic event ( Iraq Debate Academy and Mesopotamia Debating Tournment) in Duhok with students from different parts of Iraq , from Zakho to the Gulf. however we are looking forward to extending our activities to all Universities and Schools in Iraq in near future.

Currently, Iraq Debate held a successful participation to the World Universities Debating Championships in Turkey 27 Dec 2009 to 4 Jan 2010 as two teams and one adjudicator the teams were from Governorate of Duhok ( Duhok, Zakho, and Amedy) sponsored by the highly respected the Governor of Duhok Mr. Tamar Ramadhan. also Iraq Debate became the national representative of Iraq in the Worlds Council.

Iraq Debate currently is planning to have a regional debating Academy MEDA..

Because all sections of Iraqi Society are equal, we wish to establish a fair forum for all Iraqi people to develop logical, presentational, and leadership skills. If you would like to join us, or know anyone you think would be interested in joining us, please let us know. it is our pleasure to serve the community, and feel all curious minds.
